Chapter 3 discusses how social media has changed journalism. Some view these changes positive while others see it as detrimental to news media. I am personally neutral on the issue. I believe social media can be both a positive and negative influence on journalism. For example, journalist can get live information on breaking news via social media. But on the other hand, that data could be unreliable. If that wrong information spreads quickly without being corrected that could lead to misinformation, which is a steadily growing issue in the U.S. Social media connects us to the world around us but journalists have a responsibility to use it carefully.
