I believe there are various pros and cons to using hyperlinks in news summaries. Using hyperlinks in news summaries makes it very easy for the reader to get additional information. For example, I think it's very effective that
The Skimm puts their hyperlinks naturally within the text, it lets the reader know that the hyperlink is relevant to the topic and will provide them with more info. However, there is a potential weakness some may feel that the hyperlinks are distracting or maybe even untrustworthy.
